• When will I receive my new card?

From March 2017, Citi Visa Debit cards will be replaced with a Citi Debit Mastercard upon card expiry. Therefore from March, when your Citi Visa Debit Card expires, we'll send you a new Citi Debit Mastercard.

  • Can I request my new Mastercard sooner?

Unfortunately we can't issue you with your new Citi Debit Mastercard before your current Debit card expires. Please continue to use your current Citi Visa Debit card as you always have until it expires.

  • Why am I receiving a Mastercard?

You're receiving a new Citi Debit Mastercard because your current Citi Visa Debit card has expired and we are no longer issuing Visa Debit cards.

  • How do I activate my new Debit Mastercard?

Click here to log into your account and be directed straight to the activations page -> from your account summary page click on 'Activate Card'.

Alternatively you can log into your Citi Mobile App and activate your new card by clicking on the 'Activate/Deactivate Card' from the menu. To download the Citi mobile app click here.

Once your new card is activated you can start spending, paying bills and enjoying your new features and benefits straight away.

  • What happens if I don't activate my card?

Once your old Visa Debit card expires, you will no longer have access to your funds via your Visa Debit card, therefore you will not be able to withdraw cash, shop online or in store using your lending or transaction accounts unless you activate your new Citi Debit Mastercard.

    what will change?

If you have both accounts you will receive a new card for each, which will make it easier to shop in store.

Your new cards will look different, so they will be easily seen in your wallet and they will both be set up for you to simply use contactless and the credit button when shopping in store.

Contactless allows you to tap & go when you are paying in store for purchases under $100. For purchases of $100 and over you can press the 'Credit' button and enter your PIN.

  • Why do I need two cards to access my Citi accounts?

We have provided you with two cards, if you have both a lending and transaction account. This will make it easier for you to use your cards to access contactless and save any confusion with which button you should press when shopping in store.
