Now that you are ready to start the registration process, following is a guide to step you through what happens next.

Once you complete these steps and create your unique User ID and Password you will be able to access Citibank Online and Citibank Mobile anytime, anywhere.

  • Firstly activate your Citibank card by calling us on 13 24 84.
  • Select the 'Register now' button below to get started. Make sure you have the following information at hand:

    If you have credit card, please input as below:

    • Credit card number (16 digits.) *
    • ATM PIN
    • Credit card number (same as 1).

    If you have debit card, please input as below:

    • Debit card number * (16 digits starting with 4312 or 560299)
    • ATM PIN
    • Account number.

    * Always use the latest active card if you get replacement card.

    If you don't have any physical card, please input as below:

    • IAN (16 digits. for example: 5602990000012345)
    • Internet PIN
    • Online saver account number/ mortgage account number.
  • You will then create your own User ID and Password. Ensure you review the password rules and tips below. Your unique User ID and Password is used each time you sign on to Citibank.
  • Next create your security questions for additional Online Banking security. You will be asked to answer one of three questions each time you sign on.
  • Accept the Citibank Online Terms and Conditions.
You are ready to start banking.
If you have multiple Citibank products, use your Citibank Visa Debit Card

when registering for Citibank Online and Citibank Mobile. This way you will be able to view all products within the one sign on.

Your card number is the 16 digit number displayed on the front of your Citibank card.

Your account number is assigned by Citibank and is used to identify your account. For credit card customers this is the 16 digit number found on the front of your card. If you are having difficulty locating your account number read the above section 'I forgot my account number'.

Not all Citibank accounts have an associated card number as this depends on the type of account you hold with us. If you don't have a card number, your account will have an associated Internet Access Number (IAN) which is used to register for Citibank Online. If you have a Citibank credit card your account number is the 16 digit number found on the front of your card. When registering for Citibank Online and you are prompted to enter your account number use your card number. If you are having difficulty locating your account number read the above section 'I forgot my account number'. An IAN or Internet Access Number is issued for Citibank Online Savings accounts and is an alternative to a card number. You will receive your IAN in the post after your application has been approved. Once you have your IAN you will need to activate this by calling us on 13 24 84. Your activated IAN is also used during the registration process for Citibank Online. Your ATM PIN will be issued once your account application has been approved. Once your application is approved your ATM/Internet PIN can take up to five working days to arrive at your street address. For security reasons your ATM/Internet PIN can't be sent to a PO Box address. If you have not received your ATM/Internet PIN contact us on 13 24 84.

Each time you sign on to Citibank Online you will be asked to answer one of your security questions. This provides you with an additional level of security and extra peace of mind while you conduct your Internet banking.

Your Password for Citibank Online must adhere to the following rules:

  • Must be a least eight characters long with a maximum of 16 characters
  • Must have at least one number and one letter
  • Cannot have three of the same characters in a row, e.g. aaa, 333
  • Cannot have three consecutive characters, e.g. 123, abc
  • Cannot be the same as your User ID
  • Use of special characters is recommended, e.g. $, +, ?
  • Cannot be the same as your previous Passwords.

To choose a high-level security password, it is recommended that you:

  • Do not create a password that can be easily identifiable with you, e.g. that contains your name, date of birth, email address etc
  • Do create a password that only you can easily remember but that will be meaningless to anyone else. Choose a phrase or a combination of words, that makes the password easier to remember, eg: cmp/w@le30ds = change my password at least every 30 days
  • Do create a password longer than the minimum required, e.g. use 12 characters in lieu of the minimum 8
  • Do not use single words that can be found in any dictionary
  • Once created, never share your password or write it down - commit it to memory!

There are several reasons why you may not be able to access Citibank Online:

  • You have not created a User ID and Password - more info
  • You have forgotten your User ID - more info
  • You have forgotten your Password - more info
  • You have forgotten your answer to your security question - more info
  • You have recently obtained a new ATM PIN - when you enter your User ID and Password you will be presented with a screen to revalidate your User ID. You will need to have your User ID, Password, card number and new ATM PIN so we can identify you.
  • You have recently upgraded to a Visa Debit Citicard - when you enter your User ID and Password you will be presented with a screen to revalidate your User ID. You will need to have your User ID, Password, card number and new ATM PIN so we can identify you.
  • You have recently obtained a new Citicard - you will need to revalidate your User ID. when you enter your User ID and Password you will be presented with a screen to revalidate your User ID. You will need to have your User ID, Password, card number and new ATM PIN so we can identify you.
  • You have recently obtained a new Credit Card - you will need to establish a new User ID. Unfortunately, you will not be able to reuse your existing User ID.
