To apply for a Citibank loan, select the loan you wish to apply for on the Lending Overview page.
You are:
- Over 18 years of age
- Have a good credit rating
- A permanent Australian resident
- Contact details
- Details about your employment (employment status, primary occupation and employer's contact details)
- If you are self-employed, your accountant's name, name of their accounting firm, and contact phone number
- Gross income and monthly expenses
- For balance transfers, name on account, type of card/account, card/account number, amount being transferred and the issuing organisation's name and address
Once you've applied, you'll receive an email containing your 13-digit application ID, which you can use to check the status of your application online.
Please see the next section 'Documents you need to supply' once you have received your application ID.
Once you have received your application ID, the next step is to verify your identity and income details. You'll need to supply documents to help us do this, a list below outlines what is required depending on your employment type.
Please authorise with your employer and/or your accountant that Citibank may contact them to confirm your income and employment details.
(please supply all of the following):
- Driver Licence (back side of the driver's license to include change of address) or proof of address (eg. most recent electricity or utility bill)
- Medicare Card or Passport to confirm residency
- Most recent mobile phone bill which reflects your name, address and mobile number
(please supply any one of the following options):
- Two payslips less than 60 days old (preferred), or
- Letter of employment (should indicate annual income and employment status), or
- Three months of applicant's bank statements showing the regular income, or
- Most recent Individual Tax Return, or
- Most recent PAYE payment summary, or
- Most recent Individual Tax Assessment Notice
(please supply any one of the following options):
- Two most recent Tax Assessment Notices, or
- Two most recent Income Tax Returns, or
- Two most recent Business/Company Tax Returns, or
- Two most recent Business/Company Profit & Loss Statements
(please supply any one of the following options):
- Two most recent Tax Assessment Notices & two most recent pay slips, or
- Two most recent Pay As You Go payment summaries & two most recent pay slips
(please supply any one of the following options):
- Annual superannuation statement which includes an indexed pension amount, or
- Most recent Pension statement, or
- Three months of personal bank statements showing regular credit or cash deposits, or
- Most recent Self-managed Superannuation Tax Return less than 15 months old

You should be aware that email is not a secure communications channel. Should you choose to send us information by email, we recommend that you encrypt the information using an encryption program that's compatible with the encryption programs used by us. We can support files encrypted with Winzip or SecureZip. You'll then need to contact us and advise the password used to encrypt your files. Just call 1300 335 213 to advise us of the password. Please don't email the password to us. Should you choose to send us unencrypted information you do so at your own risk.
