During your application, you can transfer your balances over from your previous credit cards, depending on which card you are applying for. By transferring your balances, you can save money by reducing the interest you pay on any amounts owing however after the introductory period the rate will revert to the cash advance rate. If you have any existing direct debits, make sure you inform the service providers of your new credit card account details without delay.
After confirming the transfer of your direct debit details, notify your previous financial institution to close your old credit card account.
