Sydney, 16 February 2009: In response to the widespread public appeal for support for the victims of the Victorian bushfires, Citi Australia is assisting those affected through its Citibank Disaster Relief Program.
The program offers immediate financial relief to those affected, as well as helping victims on a case-by-case basis to tailor make solutions for their longer-term financial needs.
The Relief Program includes mortgage payment relief, personal loan restructuring, temporary credit line increases to meet unexpected costs, fee waivers for customers requiring early redemption of term deposits and fast tracked insurance claims.
In addition, Citi Australia is matching donations made by its employees to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Fund until February 20, 2009. As at Monday, 16 February employees had pledged more than $110,000 to the fund, bringing Citis total donation to more than $220,000 as at that date.
